Legal Summary
2. Suppressa paroecia, eo ipso officium parochi in ea non amplius exsistit; competens ergo Dicasterium Curiae Romanae recte decrevit recursum adversus amotionem ab officio parochi in casu obiecto carere.
1. A parish priest appointed for a fixed period of time, once the established time has expired, remains in that office only temporarily, so that to make him cease from office it is sufficient for the Bishop to notify him that he is no longer parish priest (cf. can. 186).
2. Once the parish has been suppressed, the office of the parish priest ceases on account of the same; therefore, the competent Dicastery of the Roman Curia rightly established that the recourse against the removal of the parish priest in this case is missing an object.
